It’s the start of the new year and The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa is excited to be offering on site training sessions again for those of our pups who are well…in need of some “manners.”

What started last year as an opportunity to teach old and new dogs manners has made its way back to The Ranch, and we couldn’t be more pleased!

“The dog training lessons were very well received by our existing members as well as new guests,” comments Michael Gamache, owner and Dog Hero of The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa.

“We recognize that some dogs and pups need some training to make life easier on their owners and make them more acclimated to socialize with others. We are proud to offer Dog Training by professional dog handlers trained to handle our beloved doggie daycare campers and boarders.”

Puppy Bowl 2022 is a Huge Success!

We at The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa are all wiped out! Puppy Bowl 2022 went down in history as one of the most fun events of the year!

The day began with the smalls warming up for the game with some a little more aggressive than others and some just happy to participate from the comfort of the sidelines.

The bigs took some extra strides along the dog park in anticipation for a fierce competition. We heard some smack talk, but all in all, the warm up session went well beyond our expectations!

By the look of the days’ Game Faces, we knew we were in for a great Puppy Bowl 2022!

Excitement and Penalties During Puppy Bowl 2022

The dogs were definitely geared up for Puppy Bowl 2022, with all eyes, nose, and tongues awaiting the ref’s calls. Sadly, it looks like not all pups were good players as there were some penalties on the field.

The Winners of Puppy Bowl 2022 Have Been Named!

Congratulations to Sugar for being named MVP for the second time in a row. This feisty pup may be headed for bigger things, but we want the scouts to know she learned all she knows from The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa’s intensive training program.

Word around The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa is that the dogs are gearing up for the most anticipated event of the Year: Puppy Bowl 2022.

Last year’s event drew crowds of onlookers, cheerleaders, Puppy Bowl wanna-be participants, our entire staff, our own Michael Gamache as referee, and a singing hot dog. Yes, you heard us! A signing hot dog that sauced up Bruno Mars’ songs like a champ!

This is THE event of the season and one not to miss!

Puppy Bowl 2022 will Take Place on January 27, 2022

Does your pup have what it takes to participate in the most athletic event of the season? The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa is taking sign ups for Puppy Bowl 2022. The most athletic event of the year will take place on January 27, 2022.

The entrance fee is $15 and covers a tailgate party with mouthwatering, irresistible food, MVP awards, full press opportunities on social media and email for those pups hoping to be drafted by the DFL (Dog Football League), live cheerleaders, bandanas to separate the teams, and a whole lot of tail wagging fun.

Does Your Dog Have What it Takes to be Part of Puppy Bowl 2022?

We are currently recruiting all dogs and puppies to be a part of Puppy Bowl 2022. No pupper is too slow, too agile, too plump, too perky, or too shy. Puppy Bowl 2022 brings out the best in all dogs!

We can’t wait to see the competition play out! Live coverage will be announced on our Facebook page where you can watch your dog tromp, tackle, run, intercept, fumble, or crumble into our side judge’s lap.

The fun and laughter never end as your dog can be the star of the show! Puppy Bowl 2022 proves to be a rip-roaring great time for all participants, and you are guaranteed to bring home a tired pooch.

Referees and side judges will be on hand to make sure the crowds and participants do not get out of hand and all dogs will come off the field feeling like a champion!

Here at The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa we are checking our Naughty and Nice list to update Santa as he is getting a copy of our December Bowser Report.

There is a lot of activity at The Ranch, and it appears that everyone is getting along for now; we are pleased to report that all our daycare, boarding, and grooming pooches are going to be on Santa’s Nice List.

Update on the Smalls at The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa

The smalls are loving time together at The Ranch. Some are sporting their winter wear while others are just way too cool to admit the cooler weather is upon us.

We got to celebrate Chewy’s 11th birthday on December 3 which made us all happy! There’s nothing like sharing a birthday with your friends!

The Biggies are Acting Like it’s Summer

The warm weather keeps the Biggies playing in our one-of-a-kind water feature! Nothing says, “It’s December!” then a bunch of dogs enjoying our water feature. Then again, labs are huge hunting and water dogs so no weather is too cold for them to join in on any water activity!

Look, Mom and Dad, I really want to go to Doggie Daycare at The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa! So I’ve compiled a list of fun local, Livermore activities to keep you busy while I’m in Doggie Daycare!

I know you’ll miss me, but with all the activities The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa plans for us, all the great adults playing with us, and all the groovy friends I have waiting for me, it’s only fair that you get to have fun, too!

Wine Taste in Livermore

You don’t have to be as smart and refined as a poodle to know that Livermore has some of the best wine tasting in the Bay Area!

The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa is in the heart of wine country, so when you drop me off to play with my pack buddies, you can smell, swirl, sip, or spit that juice made from grapes all you want! Just don’t give us any grapes because they are toxic to dogs.

Golf in Livermore

I’ve heard people yell, “Fore!” when they swing at this little, tiny ball with what looks like a stick. I’m not sure what “Fore” means, but when that word is said, a bunch of people run and cover their heads. What a funny game you play!

I’d love to chase that ball on those rolling green hills and dig in the sand! Maybe one day you can take me with you so that when you hit the ball in the water, I can retrieve it!

Speaking of retrievers, have you seen some of them at The Ranch? They love to play in the water park that is unique to The Ranch Pet Resort and Spa.

So why don’t you check out the Golf courses in Livermore? I hear some of them are the best in the country!

Hike in Livermore

Oh, boy, do I love a good hike! But I’m ok with you dropping me at doggie daycare so you can hike without me sniffing out snakes or other dogs or needing to stop at every bush, twig, plant, and blade of grass to sniff who dared come before me on the trails.

Livermore has some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the area. Check them out! You can even run, jog, or ride your bike!

Talk about premium shopping in Livermore! The San Francisco Premium Outlets have so many chic, trendy, name brand stores with discount prices! I’m almost as excited about you shopping as I am about meeting my friends on the play structures at the dog park at doggie daycare!

Stay awhile and eat at the many eateries when you tire from shopping. Just don’t forget to pick up something for me! Afterall, I am your best friend!

Keeping Your Dogs and Cats Safe and Healthy This Summer

The Pet Ranch Resort and Spa wants to remind you to keep your dogs and cats safe and healthy this summer. In our May Bowser Report, we posted an infographic reminding you of ways to make sure your dogs and cats are safe and healthy in the summer weather.

Summer may also be a good time to check and see if your dogs or cats suffer from some of the most common pet ailments.

According to Vetsource, “Dogs and cats have many of the same health problems as humans — but they may not show symptoms in the same ways we do. Our pets have an instinctual response to hide their vulnerabilities. It’s up to us to pay attention, learn the symptoms, and help them get the best treatment.”

Some of the most common ailments in dogs and cats include:

  • Fleas
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Ear infections
  • Allergies
  • Worms
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Hot spots/skin irritations
